6 Steps to a Healthy Glow - From the Inside Out

Have you ever met someone who exudes positive energy and warmth?

There's nothing more attractive and magnetic than a person whose soul seems to shine from the inside out. They have something innately refreshing, inviting, and peaceful about them. They're authentically confident, joyful, and kind.

How can you become that memorable person who shines with such character and light?


1. SPEAK LIFE: TO YOURSELF, TO, AND ABOUT OTHERS.

Radiate your beauty, confidence, and strength by managing your self-talk and the way you speak to and about others. If your words were written on your skin, would you be beautiful? If we are drowning in negative emotions, it makes us more vulnerable to tearing others down, having a critical spirit, and gossiping – none of which are attractive.

Replace negativity with positive affirmations until they sink in and resonate within every cell of your being. Speak life and kind words to yourself and into the lives of others – whether they are present or not.

Our words reveal our hearts. Being mindful of our words helps us make a positive shift from negative speech, gossip, and judgment, to positive speech, kindness, and healing.

2. CULTIVATE POSITIVE ENERGY

When we can identify our own truths and remain authentic, we start cultivating positive energy. If we are not internally and externally operating in harmony, and with respect for ourselves and others, our energy and aura is dimmed. Refrain from negative gossip and judgments and connect to your own power, to your goodness, to the energizing positive flow and glow of life.

Speaking kindly not only brings out your light, but you will be an extraordinary example and inspiration for others to do the same. We can all contribute to a greater good simply by being on a path of living the highest expression of who we are.


3. ACCEPT

There are many experiences in our lives that could easily be neutralized – and possibly even made pleasant – by the alchemical power of acceptance. Acceptance allows you to control what you can.

The ‘Serenity Prayer’, is a powerful and helpful meditation: "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference." Through the art of acceptance, we are more apt to seeing whatever happens to or around us through a more positive lens, and less inclined to speak negatively about ourselves and others.


4. FORGIVE

Let go of the past. Don’t give old wounds permission to take up mind space and possibly even define you. Unforgiveness not only takes up valuable energy, but it will seep through for everyone else to see - especially through your words. Regardless of how beautiful we are on the outside, holding on to the things that hurt us is the surest way to diminish it. There is always a purpose to our experiences, and always an opportunity to utilize them for our personal growth and good.


5. EAT WELL

We all know that eating well gives us the energy we need to take care of our minds and bodies. A healthy diet improves and stabilizes our emotions, makes us feel better about ourselves, and allows for greater focus in all other areas of our lives. With a well-fueled body, we have healthier attitudes and are better equipped to deal with the inevitable stresses and challenges of life, and people.


6. REST

When we’re deprived of adequate rest, it can cause - or, further exacerbate - irritability, anxiety, and stress. When we are tired, we are far more likely to allow negativity to creep in and, therefore, speak negatively.

It is not a secret that sleep helps equip us to function well throughout the day. Rest not only makes us feel better physically, but it enhances our emotional well-being while giving us a greater sense of peace and calm. It helps us to be better versions of ourselves, and kinder in both words and action.


The transforming power of our words

Our words have amazing power to transform our lives, and the lives of others. When we eliminate gossip and negative judgments toward others, and stop them in their tracks when coming at us, we not only become more radiant and happy on the inside, but our kindness and character will magnify our outer beauty, as well.
